VIBE Chronicles the Dungeon Family
VIBE Magazine did a very inclusive, detailed and unbiased look at the history of what I feel is the "1st Family of Hip Hop" in the South, entitled "AM I MY BROTHER'S KEEPER: The Untold Story of the Dungeon Family". The DF, short for the Dungeon Family. This collective of individuals from the greater Atlanta area and other parts of North Georgia is comprised of over 50 members, most notably: Legendary Hip Hop Duo OutKast and one of Hip Hop's most underrated groups, the Goodie Mob and has put out almost 80 albums between all its members since 1993. This look into their ups and downs, break ups and reunions, and future was very cool. Below are the links to the audio Backstory and Parts 1 and 2. Enjoy a lil lesson on hip hop history:
