Keith Olberman Speaks on "Ground Zero Mosque"

I would leave my own comments, but Mr. Olberman did so in such an eloquent manner that I don't feel the need to. Listen and take heed.

EXCLUSIVE: "Logorama" Short (Full)

This is the extremely creative short film by French Collective H5. It won the Oscar for Best Short Film last night at the 82nd Academy Awards.Below is the 17 minute film in 2 parts, followed by examples of the use of branded images in the Short.
Good luck finding this in one piece anywhere else. lol
Part 1:
Part 2:
Use of Branded Images
* The first image in the film is the Malibu rum logo, which is also glimpsed as an island in the Pacific during the opening crane shot.
* As Ronald McDonald dodges a falling Enron logo, he mutters 'Losers'. As he dodges a falling K-Mart logo, he shouts 'white trash'. Later on, he crashes into a falling Weight Watchers logo, the irony being that Weight watchers promotes weight loss, McDonalds, along with other fast food chains, the opposite.
* The earthquake creates a crater in the form of the X-Box logo at an intersection.
* Diners in the Pizza Hut include Chief Wahoo, Mr. Peanut and the Pep Boys.
* Palm trees are in the shape of the Afri-Cola logo.
* The USB logo is used to represent cactuses.
* Telephone poles are in the shape of the T-Mobile logo.
* The traffic lights look exactly like the Stop & Shop logo.
* The classmates accompanying Haribo & Big Boy to the zoo are all portrayed by the Bic mascot.
* At the zoo, Haribo moons the MGM Lion, who appears anemic and defeated.
* In the final shot, a planet made out of the Pepsi logo is orbited by its subsidiary brands such as Doritos and Frito-Lay.
* The Hollywood sign is rendered as the Hollywood Chewing Gum logo.

Obama Tussles with Republicans On Their Turf, LIVE.

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum. LOL President Obama accepted an invitation to, and showed up for, a rare meeting at an annual retreat in Baltimore for the House GOP (Republican) leaders to address their caucus.
After finishing his address to the some 140+ members in attendance, Obama gave time for a 'question and answer' session between himself and the GOP's top 140.
No notes, no teleprompter, in enemy territory, and live in living color on multiple channels. That takes cajones the size of Bill O'Reilly's ego...
Even if you don't side wit Obama, you name me ONE person, with cameras on, that took on a room full of enemies, LIVE, with no notes. Matter of fact, the only thing he had with him was a booklet of GOP "proposals" that he was handed by their leadership as he walked on stage!
Here is MSNBC's coverage story on the event:

What was supposed to be a Q&A session to get the two sides closer and make for bridge building on the issues that need fixing on Capitol Hill, turned into an accusation throwing, fake fact supplying, "Look at me! I'm challenging the Liberal President!" publicity stunt on the part of the GOP.
On a myriad of issues, the members of the 140 tried to trip up or admonish Obama, relinquishing all responsibility of their own for the mess we are in.
Little did the know who they were dealing with. As much as they prepared their faux facts and talking points for this live GOP-style intervention with the Commander-In-Chief, Mr. C-In-C prepared for their foolish tactics. To every question on health care reform, the national deficit, ear-marks, etc. The President calmly and thoroughly picked apart their STATEMENTS questions and sent them with their tails between their legs back to their seats.
Many of these questions were just so foolish and obviously talking points, it was ridiculous.
One GOP member from Tennessee, asked why certain health care reform proposals sent up by Republicans such as herself was ignored by Obama, Pelosi and them Democratic leadership or not used. President Obama, the shrewd politician and charming speaker that he is, answered politely that they had looked at those proposals and had incorporated the things they felt contributed to the bills' well being.
I, not being half the polite and moreso politically correct individual that Mr. President is, would have had this to say:
Followed by this:
"MANY OF THE THINGS YOU REPUBLICANS SO ADAMANTLY OPPOSE IN MY ADMINISTRATION'S HEALTH CARE PLAN IS THINGS YOU, YOURSELF, THE, GOP, GRAND OLE PARTY, REPUBLICANS, YALL, ASKED THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION TO PUT IN THEIR HEALTH CARE REFORM PLAN YOU SHOT DOWN. HYPOCRITS TO THE Nth DEGREE!!!
FURTHERMORE, YOU, THE GOP, WERE IN CONTROL OF THE HOUSE, SENATE AND THE WHITE HOUSE FOR MUCH OF THE PAST DECADE! NOT ONLY DID YOU NOT PASS HEALTH CARE REFORM WITH THESE ISSUES YOU FIGHT FOR NOW, YOU DIDN'T EVEN BRING THE ISSUES UP AT ALL!!! IDIOTS!!!
YET YOU WANT TO FIGHT ME TO THE DEATH OVER REFORMS YOU COULD HAVE PASSED YOURSELVES??? F&%K OUTTA MY FACE YOU CAR SALESMEN DRESSED AS ELECTED OFFICIALS..."
Followed by me dropping the microphone, throwing my hands up and storming out...
Here are two more videos of these 'snakes in the grass' hissing their discontent and faux facts to The President, while he shoots them down like Clint Eastwood in "The Good, The Bad, and the GOP":

For the rest of the full Q&A broken down by each topic CLICK HERE

President Obama handled himself like no other leader has, or in my opinion could in that environment, under those kind of circumstances.
This fight was 140 vs 1. The 1 beat ALL of the 140 to the ground, on their field, all while saying, 'I don't want to fight.'
This is the man I wanted, want, and will want as president for the next 7 years. All others need not apply (Sarah)...

Political Science For Dummies lol

*DEMOCRAT*
You have two cows.
Your neighbor has none.
You feel guilty for being successful.
You push for higher taxes so the government can provide cows for everyone.*

So?

The government takes one and gives it to your neighbor.

*AMERICAN CORPORATION*
You have two cows.
You sell one, lease it back to yourself and do an IPO on the 2nd one.

You have one cow.
The cow is schizophrenic.
Sometimes the cow thinks he's French, other times he's Flemish.
The Flemish cow won't share with the French cow.
The French cow wants control of the Flemish cow's milk.
The cow asks permission to be cut in half.
The cow dies happy.

*FLORIDA CORPORATION*
You have a black cow and a brown cow.
Everyone votes for the best looking one.
Some of the people who actually like the brown one best accidentally vote for the black one.
Some people vote for both.
Some people vote for neither.
Some people can't figure out how to vote at all.
Finally, a bunch of guys from out-of-state tell you which one you think is the best looking cow.

*CALIFORNIA CORPORATION*
You have millions of cows.
They make real California cheese.
Only five speak English.
Most are illegal.

VIBE Chronicles the Dungeon Family

VIBE Magazine did a very inclusive, detailed and unbiased look at the history of what I feel is the "1st Family of Hip Hop" in the South, entitled "AM I MY BROTHER'S KEEPER: The Untold Story of the Dungeon Family". The DF,  short for the Dungeon Family. This collective of individuals from the greater Atlanta area and other parts of North Georgia is comprised of over 50 members, most notably: Legendary Hip Hop Duo OutKast and one of Hip Hop's most underrated groups, the Goodie Mob and has put out almost 80 albums between all its members since 1993. This look into their ups and downs, break ups and reunions, and future was very cool. Below are the links to the audio Backstory and Parts 1 and 2. Enjoy a lil lesson on hip hop history:

It's Anniversary Time!

It's been over a year effective yesterday since the First Black President was Sworn in. Just a reminder of how much and why I am enjoying this:

The Lane Train is Goin' Goin' Back Back To SC SC

Welp. That was quick...

It's amazing how shady and immature some people are. Now former Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin upped and left Knoxville last week to take the Southern California job:
Photobucket
No warning given to his players. (I'm told in the meeting before his announcement, some of his players wanted to physically hurt him. Not surprised.) Of course the students took it much worse (Exhibit AExhibit BExhibit C). The campus turned into Compton circa 1992:

NOT GOOD. But I don't blame them. Kiffin took half the coaching staff, including his daddy who has been responsible for much of his success, and Ed "yoyoyoyoyoyo" Orgeron his ace recruiting guru and left the Volunteers high and dry.
Orgeron, known for his, shall we say "AGRESSIVE RECRUITING TACTICS", is known for winning his share of recruiting battles due to his willingness to go overboard. As you saw in the last video, he takes recruiting a player and his family as some brain game, to fool them into signing the dotted line. I mean what intelligent self respecting family, who can see through his "techniques" would allow their son to spend four years under the guidance of a man whose decision making leads to things like this:

Seriously. Not to my surprise, Orgeron was up to his recruiting "TECHNIQUES" on the behalf of USC before Kiffen had even slunk out of Tennessee! Then he tried to lie his way out of it:

This is the type of company that Lane Kiffin keeps. They say "Birds of a feather flock together." Kiffin is the classic case of a spoiled rich kid who gets through life on his father's merit. Monty Kiffin, his father, is the one who put in the work in the NFL, building a reputation for the Kiffin name. Lane is just a kid "born on 3rd base who acts like he hit a triple" smh. I mean look at him. Is this the face of someone you should trust your sons with?

He never respected Tennessee. If he did, he wouldn't have put the school and athletic department through such turmoil with only 7 wins, 6 NCAA violations, multiple arrests, and his constant trash talk which turned college football into "As The World Turns" over the past hour. He does just enough to get to his next job.
Just look at the difference in dress from his introduction as head coach of Tennessee:

To his dress for his press conference to announce leaving for USC:

If yo ask me Tennessee fans:
LAME Kiffin leaving is the best thing to happen to you since he arrived...

Top 10 Albums of 2009

My buddy @playbwah (follow him on Twitter) is probably one of the most avid music listeners you'll ever meet. He put together a list of the top ten albums from the past year. He has such a knack for music critique that I decided to put it on here for you all. Debate amongst yourselves or with @playbwah on twitter. To see and comment on the original post on Facebook, CLICK HERE Now. Partake:
Top 10 albums of 2009 (No Particular Order)

1. Kid Cudi ~ Man On The Moon

Cudi shocked a lot of people with this album (including myself). Some people thought it was "too emo" but I could identify with his story, so I felt it, and he experienced with sounds on it to make it a truly unique & enjoyable album

Top joints:
Cudi Zone
Hyyer
Sky Might Fall

2. Maxwell ~ Blacksummernight

Maxwell took the music scene by storm with his random cameo & haircut on the BET awards for the Al Green tribute. But this man lived up to the hype with his last album. This joint defines smooth...good look for a special night with ya lady friend. *Wink wink*

Top joints:
Badhabits
PrettyWings
Stoptheworld

3. Mos Def ~ The Ecstatic

Someday we will give Mos his respect as a lyricist....and as an actor (but thats a whole other story), this album is all over the place, but somehow it still all works.

Top joints:
Auditorium (ft. Slick Rick)
History (ft. Talib Kweli)
Roses

4. Raekwon ~ Only Built for Cuban Links 2

When everyone was checking for Blueprint 3..another hip-hop vet dropped a well anticipated sequel. The chef continues exactly where OBC41 left off..with bangin production by Dre, Pete Rock, Alchemist...and of course the RZA.

Top joints:
Sonnys Missing
Kiss The Ring
About Me (ft. Busta Rhymes)

5. Rick Ross ~ Deeper Than Rap

As many of you may know im an avid Rawse fan...why you ask?...because he's the BAWSE. On a more serious note Ross put out a great album this year & smashed 50 in the beef, when it came to music because "Before I Self Destruct" was a ticking time bomb.

Top joints:
Maybach Music 2
In Cold Blood
Valley of Death

6. Royce da 5'9 ~ Street Hop

In my opinion Royce da 5'9 is the best rapper out of Slaughterhouse (debatable) but he proves why he's a top MC with this album. Wiity rhymes, hard beats, and sometimes disturbing imagery, prove why Royce can battle with his Caucasian counterpart for the King of Detroit.

Top joints:
Shake This
Mine Is Thiz
Gun Harmonizing

7. Ryan Leslie ~ Transition

Honestly I didn't really listen to R Lez before this album, and dude really proved something to me with this album. It's smooth, Neptune like production, make you feel like you're riding on a starship wave of love listening to it. And I say that with the utmost masculinity.

Top joints:
Something Like That
When We Dance
Promise Not to Call

8. Skyzoo ~ The Salvation

I say this with a stone cold serious face...if you don't know about Skyzoo...get familiar like...yesterday. Skyzoo has always been an ill lyricist to me, but he really brings it home for me with this album. Flawless victory

Top joints:
Under Pressure
Maintain
Dear Whoever

9. Snoop Dogg ~ Malice in Wonderland

The big homie from the west who is probably just as old as all our uncles drops another album. To be honest I didn't have much hope for it after I heard "Gangsta Love" w/ Dream, but Snoop really surprised me with this album. He made a solid album that can bang in the whip pre-club & he even found a way to make Lil Jon relevant again on "1800".

Top joints:
Pronto
Upside Down
I Wanna Rock

10. Wale ~ Attention Deficit

I'll be honest, I was hard on my dude Mr. Folarin when I first heard this album. But after listen after listen...he really did his thing on this one. Song after song...not afraid to explore any topic... killin every track lyrically (although he got SLAYED by J Cole, but we'll save that convo for another day) Kudos...way to bring life to the DC music scene man...I know the DMV is proud.

Top joints:
Beautiful Bliss
Shades
Mama Told Me

Honorable Mention:
1. Dream- "Love V/S Money" One of my homies told me this joint was ill...and honestly, it's a lot better than I gave it credit for. Great album by the walking Teddy Graham known as the Dream.

2. Fabolous- "Loso Way" It really hurt my heart not to put one of my favorite rappers Fab on the top 10 this year. He put out a GREAT album, and did everything the critics said he couldn't do, story telling, being sincere with his rhymes, talking bout more than money & sex, etc. But unfortunately it was just a great year for music...,maybe next time man

3. Slauhgterhouse "Self-titled"-Man I struggled not to put this on the list. Lyrically this may be the hardest album that came out this year, but I just couldn't put it over anything else on this list that I enjoyed listening to a little bit more.

Album of the Year (Don't Hit Me)

My album of the year is.............
Skyzoo ~ The Salvation
Click on song links below to listen:

First off: If you've never heard the album, don't even talk to me. Like don't argue with me like i'm whylin when you have no basis for your argument. Listen to it &; then we'll talk, now this is why:

Honestly for me it was b/w this Man on the Moon, Street Hop, &; Attention Deficit. I chose Skyzoo because he combined great production, with phenomenal lyrics that you sometimes had to rewind 4-5 times back to see what he was saying, and it sounded better EVERY TIME.
Skyzoo also explored all different types of subject matter and did it effortlessly without sounding preachy (which was my problem w/ Wale "90210" sounded like a weak PSA..dont hit me) Skyzoo went through the typical "im ill and can spit tracks", tracks about relationship issues, he wrote a track where he battles his reflection in the mirror, and he also wrote a track to HIS NOTEBOOK "Dear Whoever" like who does that!

At the beginning of the album Skyzoo stated "I didn't aim to make a classic, I aim to state what happens, if the outcome gets praised then blame the havoc"...coming out of one of the worst recessions in US history...I guess Skyzoo can thank the havoc for making a classic &; beautifully arranged hip hop masterpiece.

College Football World In A Transition Phase?

If there's one thing that will never change about the college football world, its that things change. Every few years the landscape shifts itself somehow and the environment of college football takes a new shape. Nobody stays on top forever. Just ask Nebraska, Miami, and Florida State. However, powerhouse programs who fall on their luck rarely stay down (with the exception of Notre Lame). Just ask Nebraska, Miami, and Florida State.
Many Florida Gator fans saw the past few years as signs that the Young Gators' Reign over college football would last forever. But since mid-December those Gator fans, along with the rest of college football have been witness to events that beg to differ.
  • It started with what seemed to be a small upset at the time when the Gators lost to now National Champion Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.

  • Bobby Bowden, amid much unrest at his school of 30+ years, retired after his bowl game leading to an inevitable transition stage at mid to late 90s juggernaut Florida State.

  • The Heisman Trophy, which seemed to be more of a lock as a 3 team race than ever before in history (between Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford) is won by Alabama's Mark Ingram, a player who could be a force in college football for the near future.

  • Florida Gators are launched into a rebuilding phase due to the departure of all-world QB Tim Tebow, the health issues of Urban Meyer and his subsequent drama, the departure of the programs REAL backbone in Charlie Strong to Louisville, and the flight of a strong junior class to the NFL.

  • USF, an up and comer in the Big East and in the arms race known as college football in the State of Florida, is dealt a huge blow to its chances of respect by a home blowout at the hands of a surging Miami program and the firing of Head Coach Jim Leavitt after allegations he choked a player and interfered in the schools investigation of the incident. USF goes from almost making the Big 3 (UM, FSU, UF) the Big 4 to becoming a member of the:

  • Randy Shannon, bolstered by the uncertainty at UF and FSU, sees his University of Miami program gaining steam on its way to providing college football with a "Hurricane Warning" in the coming few years. CLICK HERE to see why.

  • Mike Leach puts a player in a dark room of sorts and is fired, maybe moreso for his Napoleon Complex and disregard for the Universities opinions, thus leaving a vacuum in the Big 12 which looks to be filled by reemerging powerhouse Nebraska, and filled in Texas by June Jones and a SMU program who is seeing success it hasn't seen since its Pony Express days of the Early 80s.

  • Les Miles Continues to do a "Larry Coker" on the once well oiled machine of an LSU program. (Ask any University of Miami fan what that means. lol)

  • Nick Saban becomes the first coach in almost 80 years to win a title at two schools, cementing himself and the Bama program (unless he bolts to the NFL) as the top dog in the SEC, the South, and all of college football until further notice.

  • What may be the final straw to the camel's back know as "college football during the 00's" is the rumored deal between Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks, CLICK HERE FOR LA TIMES REPORT which would cripple a USC program that was already being caught up to by the rest of the Pac 10.
    • Side note: Is it just me? Or are a lot of people leaving USC right now. Carrol and his OC are bolting, Joe Mcknight's leaving early, Aaron Corps leaving for Richmond among others. Sounds like they know something we don't. PROBATION MAYBE? HMMM...

Sounds like its about that time in college football. Should be fun...

    Skillz '09 Rap Up

I enjoy these at the end of the year.
If only Skillz could start comin out with some good music for the other 11 months. lol

From the Coach Says Blog, I wish you a prosperous, joyful, hope filled new year.
May you continue to stay on God's mind and may HE forever be on yours.
God Bless in 2010 and beyond...
